Norway: Revolutionary Communist League in memory of comrade Basavaraj and the 27 comrades killed by Indian State

Statement from the Revolutionary Communist League, Norway (RK). Adopted May 25th 2025.
The most valuable thing a person posesses, is life. It is given to him only once. And he should use it in such a way, that when he dies, he can say: I have dedicated my entire life, my entire strength, to the most glorious thing in the world: the liberation of humanity. --Nikolaj Ostrowskij, How the Steel was Tempered, 1936.
On Wednesday, the 21st of May, it was announced that the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) was killed along with 27 other activists during a raid in the Abujhmad region. India’s interior minister Amir Shah grinned to the camera, and declared the action a “breakthrough” in the “war against Naxalism”. The raid was part of Operation Kagaar, the last stage of the Indian state’s war against its own people.
We condemn the murders of the 28 activists on the strongest terms, as well as the entire hindutva-fascist regime led by Modi, which is based on caste oppression, ethnic (hindu) chauvinism, and collaboration with imperialist capital. We send our greetings of solidarity to the CPI (Maoist), the party’s armed guerilla forces PGLA, as well as the relatives and others affected by the murders.
As comrade Ajith pointed out in his own statement last friday, this is not the first time that the CPI (Maoist) has lost important leaders. The new democratic revolution is rooted in the masses, and not in single individuals. Leaders might disappear, but the revolution will continue. We fully trust that the CPI (Maoist) will foster new leaders capable of leading their struggle to victory.
The sacrifices of comrade Basavaraj and the many others that have given everything for their people, will never be forgotten. They will be of great inspiration of revolutionaries all round the world."
